1.3 x-cropping
The feature for1.3x cropping offers a range of unique options that expand the capabilities of the DX format. First, with this feature the potential of your existing and new lenses is extended with an extra telephoto effect of 1.3x. In this mode, the 51 focus points cover an even larger part of the image up to the edges, so the subject can be very focused. Furthermore, the operation of continuous shooting is even faster, at up to 7fps and full HD movie recording at up to 50i/60i allows.
RGB-sensor
The Scene Recognition System identifies with its powerful measurement sensor with 2016 pixels before recording the environment of your subject with precision and sets accurately the optimum auto exposure (AE), Auto Focus (AF) and auto white balance (AWB). Due to the cooperation of the 51-point AF system and the RGB sensor with 2016 pixels, the Nikon D7100 has an outstanding performance and exceeds its predecessors in all aspects.
Durable and compact
The lightweight and robust body of the Nikon D7100 with its top and back of magnesium alloy is resistant to dust, water and weather conditions, which makes the camera extremely robust, but at the same time useful light for a camera in this class. The camera weighs only 675 grams, it is safely sealed against the ingress of moisture and dust and the cleaning function of the image sensor is automatically activated when the camera is switched on or off.
Active D-Lighting
When shooting subjects with high contrast, the Active D-Lighting (ADL) ensures that details in highlights and shadows retain their sharpness, even when the subject moves. With the setting on balanced fill-flash, the flash output is automatically adjusted and set at an optimal level.
Effects in real
The effect setting adds to photos and movies an original touch by means of a series of seven special effects: Selective Color, Miniature, High Key, Low Key, Silhouette, Colour Sketch and Night vision can all be applied in real time using live view, so during recording you can see the result. If you choose Selective color, you have one color (or up to three colors) to become more dominant with respect to a black and white background.
